Wildlife Walk in Prospect Park

EnergyHub is teaming up with Wild Bird Fund for a Wildlife Walk through Prospect Park in Brooklyn. Expert birders and educators will show you how to spot and ID birds (and other wildlife) by sight and sound, no experience needed, just curiosity.

Along the way, you’ll get the scoop on the plants and hideaways that give local wildlife their food, shelter, and nesting spots. Turns out New York City’s ecosystem is way wilder than it gets credit for, and this walk, part of Climate Week NYC 2026, is a fun way to see it up close.

Wild Bird Fund is the nonprofit behind it all, and their work goes well beyond a walk in the park. Every year their team of about 30 wildlife rehabilitators (plus dozens of volunteers) treats over 9,500 sick, injured, and orphaned animals, more than 180 species, from house sparrows to snowy owls, and gets them back into the wild.
