Mercury was designed from the ground up as a data-rich, two-way DRMS.
Every server to device transaction, every event trigger, every device state change, and every user interaction is logged in real time and retained to give utilities the full story of their program’s operational effectiveness. The system collects up to 50,000 datapoints per device per month, ensuring an audit trail suitable for measurement and verification reporting.
The Mercury platform can control thermostats from vendors such as Carrier and Radio Thermostat Company of America, HVAC compressors, water heaters, pool pumps, and electric vehicle chargers. This extensive device compatibility allows utilities to select the devices that fit their budgetary and operational parameters. The platform can also operate over a variety of communication networks (broadband, AMI, cellular) and HAN technologies (Wi-Fi, ZigBee, Z-Wave).
Unlike traditional demand response programs that offer no customer benefits beyond a monetary participation incentive, EnergyHub programs include Mercury’s best-in-class web and mobile applications. The end result is better customer engagement, which results in lower participant recruiting costs and less participant churn.
