New York, NY – February 1, 2017 — EnergyHub, the leading provider of connected device and distributed energy resource (DER) solutions for utilities, and sonnen Group, the global market leader in intelligent residential energy storage, announced today that they are integrating sonnen’s energy storage systems with EnergyHub’s Mercury software platform. The agreement allows any user of EnergyHub’s platform, including its 30+ existing utility clients around the country, to deploy and manage sonnenBatterie energy storage systems using the Mercury platform.

The agreement with sonnen is EnergyHub’s latest expansion of its DER ecosystem. Seth Frader-Thompson, President of EnergyHub, described EnergyHub’s partnership with sonnen as driven by market needs: “We’re excited to welcome sonnen into EnergyHub’s growing network of DER partners. Many of our utility clients have asked us to expand our platform to manage and optimize a variety of DERs. When dispatched as a fleet, or in concert with other DERs, sonnen’s energy storage and management systems are ideal for helping our clients ensure grid reliability.”

sonnen’s energy storage systems already provide substantial value to homeowners in the form of greater solar self-consumption and backup power. By partnering with EnergyHub, sonnen will expand its energy storage benefits to utilities, which can either purchase and install sonnen’s systems themselves or enroll homeowners who already own sonnenBatterie systems in one of EnergyHub’s Bring Your Own Device demand management programs.

“sonnen’s partnership with EnergyHub makes it easier for utilities to more effectively manage and provide grid services through the greater deployment of sonnenBatterie systems,” remarked Blake Richetta, VP of Sales for sonnen. “Integrating the sonnenBatterie energy storage systems into utility demand side management programs is key to our growth in the U.S. market and an important step in realizing our vision for clean and reliable energy for all.”

Combining sophisticated analytics with the largest ecosystem of connected device and DER partners in the industry, EnergyHub’s Mercury platform is the industry-leading platform for helping utilities manage both customer- and utility-installed DERs. The sonnenBatterie systems integrate with the Mercury platform, allowing utilities to aggregate, monitor, dispatch and optimize fleets of sonnen systems. Utilities can also optimize the performance of energy storage systems alongside other internet-connected DERs, like rooftop solar, electric vehicles, water heaters and thermostats, contributing to a more reliable utility grid.
