New York, NY – May 22, 2017 –El Paso Electric and EnergyHub are proud to announce the launch of a new Bring Your Own Thermostat® (BYOT) demand response program.

El Paso Electric is using EnergyHub’s Mercury DERMS platform and program management services to manage its “eSmart Thermostat Program” beginning in the summer of 2017. Customers in both New Mexico and Texas will be able to enroll a wide variety of connected thermostat brands in the pilot program. Participating customers receive a $125 gift card at signup and a $25 yearly rebate when they enroll a participating thermostat in the demand response program.

“This is an exciting program for our customers, and we’re happy to provide them with a wide choice of thermostat brands and an attractive rebate offer to join the program,” said Richard Turner, Vice President of Renewables at El Paso Electric. “EnergyHub’s team of experts guided us through the entire launch process, and their platform is tailor-made for managing a BYOT program.”

El Paso Electric is running the BYOT pilot program to manage system peak and help meet demand-side management goals.

“We’re excited to partner with El Paso Electric to deliver a successful BYOT demand response program,” said Seth Frader-Thompson, President at EnergyHub. “El Paso Electric’s decision to use the BYOT model is a reflection of their commitment to customer satisfaction and innovative DSM strategies.”
