Karina Paez-Rojas

Brand Marketing Coordinator

Q: Why do you work at EnergyHub?

A: My role as Brand Marketing Coordinator allows me to promote the work we do to help our clients achieve their goals in both an in-person and online capacity. What’s different about the work we do here is that there is an emphasis on highlighting our customers’ stories, and I get to use my marketing skills to connect with our clients, partners, and staff and share their successes.

Q: Why did you come to EnergyHub?

A: I enjoy working with people who are motivated by our mission to contribute to a carbon-free, distributed future. Coming from a non-technical background, I want to show people who doubt their abilities to make the climate transition a reality that they can actually achieve it.

Q: How does working here align with your values?

A: It is important to me to create a better future for the next generation, and working closely with EnergyHub colleagues who share my commitment makes my work feel more fulfilling.

Q: How does your work impact climate change?

A: I believe Brand Marketing impacts climate change because it leads us to the right conversations with the right people who, as a group, heavily influence the advancement of climate action.

Q: What's your advice for job seekers looking for meaningful work on climate?

A: Don’t underestimate the value you can bring to this space! My perception prior to joining a climate tech company was that you could only contribute if you were more technical, such as a product manager or an engineer. That’s far from the case. We need to get the word out, and our B2B/B2C marketing and client success teams help us do just that. There are also many great professional groups, such as Latnixs in Sustainability, that set you up for mentorship and support.

Q: What do you do in your spare time?

A: I love New York City because there are so many free things to do. TikTok has taken over my life, and I usually scour it every week for the different popups that are happening and see if I can snag free food and swag.

Q: What is your favorite local spot to grab a bite?

A: Southwest Brooklyn is local to me. I will devour anything Mediterranean-related, but King Souvlaki in Bay Ridge has a special place in my heart.
