New York, NY – July 10, 2018 – EnergyHub, the leading provider of connected device and distributed energy resource (DER) solutions for utilities, and Salt River Project (SRP), a community-based, not-for-profit public power utility and the largest provider of electricity in the greater Phoenix metropolitan area, have announced a new Bring Your Own Thermostat® (BYOT) demand response program.

Salt River Project is working with EnergyHub to launch SRP Flex Rewards, a BYOT pilot program designed to help SRP understand the potential of managing system peak through demand response and meet the utility’s demand-side management goals. Customers who enroll their eligible connected thermostats can receive a $75 incentive per device for enrolling up to two devices in the program and a $25 participation incentive per device at the end of the summer season.

“This program is going to help Salt River Project better manage its emerging grid needs while providing customers with plenty of options when it comes to selecting their connected thermostat,” said Duane Pearson, Manager of Customer Program Innovation at Salt River Project. “After careful review, we determined that the flexibility of EnergyHub’s platform to handle a wide variety of smart thermostats and other connected devices, as well as their vast BYOT program management experience, made them the best partner to help provide our customers with a great experience.”

Salt River Project will use EnergyHub’s Mercury distributed energy resource management system (DERMS) to manage the operation of the BYOT pilot program, including program enrollment and demand response dispatch. EnergyHub will also manage the participation of all thermostat partners in the program.

“This BYOT program is a great opportunity for Salt River Project to partner with its customers to manage peak demand,” said Seth Frader-Thompson, President and Co-founder of EnergyHub. “It’s exciting to grow EnergyHub’s footprint in Arizona, and working with Salt River Project’s team to develop a demand response program that’s truly focused on providing the best customer experience has been very rewarding.”

EnergyHub’s Mercury DERMS is used by more than 30 utilities across the United States to manage demand response, energy efficiency, and distributed energy resource (DER) programs. Combining sophisticated analytics with the largest ecosystem of connected device and DER partners in the industry, EnergyHub’s Mercury DERMS is the industry-leading platform for helping utilities manage both customer- and utility-installed DERs.
