One tool to rule them all
The Home Base is the centerpiece of EnergyHub’s home area network (HAN) solution for utilities and consumers. This in-home display provides a combination of residential HVAC control, energy monitoring, and appliance management. With the Home Base’s intuitive touchscreen interface, users can easily navigate between a real-time “at-a-glance” overview of their home’s electricity use and a host of powerful tools for managing home energy consumption. It also serves as a messaging gateway, allowing utilities to communicate important information to their customers.
- Displays energy and pricing data in real-time, historical, and trend forms. The Home Base can either read usage data directly from a customer's AMI or AMR meter, or it can obtain it from other sources.
- Includes HVAC control with an additional EnergyHub Wireless Thermostat. The Home Base offers an easy-to-use way for consumers to manage heating and cooling systems, the biggest energy users in most homes.
- Through EnergyHub Sockets, Strips, Heavy Duty Controllers (HDCs), the Home Base receives real-time energy use information and offers appliance-level control.
- Manages demand response events. The Home Base is a two-way messaging platform where consumers can opt into or out of demand response events or set automatic response preferences. It also displays peak-demand warnings.
- Measures whole-home electricity use. The Home Base calculates the user's current and projected electricity cost and energy usage.
- Can be "skinned" or branded for the deploying utility. The Home Base software can be customized to match the look-and-feel and functionality desired by the utility.
- Supports complete software upgradability through "over the air" (OTA) updates. For example, a utility wanting to add new features can easily upgrade previously deployed Home Bases over the air.
