The EnergyHub Heavy Duty Controller connects EnergyHub’s Home Base to appliances with heavy-duty loads in a user’s home, such as electric pool pumps, water heaters, and clothes dryers. Consumers can track electricity consumption and automate control of these heavy-duty appliances, reducing waste and saving money. Each Heavy Duty Controller communicates the energy use of the attached appliance back to the Home Base and can be configured to respond to load control events issued by the utility.
- Supports a variety of heavy-duty loads. EnergyHub Heavy Duty Controllers are designed for hard-wired installation to accommodate the particular wiring needs of many 240V appliances.
- Reports individual 240V appliances' electricity use to EnergyHub's Home Base in-home display. The wireless connection between each Heavy Duty Controller and the Home Base allows consumers to monitor their appliances in real time.
- Controls individual 240V appliances. Each Heavy Duty Controller can respond to commands from the Home Base, EnergyHub's consumer web portal, and the utility itself to turn the attached appliance on and off. Consumers can also schedule on and off times for the attached appliance.
- Supports load control. Each Heavy Duty Controller is capable of managing the attached appliance during utility direct load control and critical peak pricing events.
