Until now, EnergyHub’s energy-saving system has only been in the hands of users who were lucky to be part of utility pilots and trials. As we prepared to launch our system to consumers, we wanted to choose a place where we could connect with the most progressive and creative thinkers out there. So we’re turning to a venue that’s credited with bringing bands from basements to the top 40 and new media tools from niche to mainstream. We’re headed to South by Southwest (SXSW) interactive this week with our EnergyHub system in hand, ready to meet and talk with the future users of our energy-saving system.
To say that we’re excited to attend, exhibit, party, and celebrate at SXSW is an understatement. We’ve come a long way over the past year researching and developing our software platform, Home Base and peripherals. But for us, this is what it’s all about – connecting with users to show them our stuff, signing up beta testers, and talking with everyday people about their energy use.
SXSW attendees will be able to see how the new Home Base could fit nicely on their kitchen counter. They’ll see how it can visually show live energy data as the morning espresso brews. And, they’ll can see how an EnergyHub employee can switch a light off at her home 1,749 miles back home in Brooklyn from a mobile app. There’s also MyHub, an online control center for your home’s energy use, that attendees can preview.
There are multiple ways to find us at SXSW. We’ll be hosting a party where you’ll be able to mingle with members of the EnergyHub team (even enjoy tunes being spun by our co-founder Tom), get hands-on with brand new EnergyHub gear, and learn about how to become one of our first beta customers. Oh yeah, did we mention that there will be free beverages and complimentary PretzelCrips!? Yum.
Attend our launch party! An official SXSW interactive party.
