We’re excited to announce EnergyHub’s new OpenBYOT℠ software module, making it easier than ever for utilities to launch a Bring Your Own Thermostat℠ demand response program, rapidly scale their programs, and increase customer choice.

Utilities can use the Mercury OpenBYOT℠ module to partner with any eligible thermostat or connected home vendor in their service territory, in addition to leveraging EnergyHub’s existing relationships with leading home service providers. Vendors integrate with EnergyHub using standards-based technologies like OpenADR or using their existing proprietary APIs.

Building on EnergyHub’s years of experience in managing BYOT demand response programs, the OpenBYOT℠ software module streamlines the program launch process and significantly reduces labor costs by including all of the services a utility will need to roll out an effective demand response program:

  • Vendor onboarding and contracting
  • Vendor incentive processing
  • Digital marketing and customer enrollment kits for vendors
  • Automated customer enrollment and validation
  • Demand response dispatch and reporting

The OpenBYOT℠ module seamlessly integrates with the existing features of EnergyHub’s Mercury device-management platform, further enhancing the Mercury platform’s ability to manage connected devices in a way that generates maximum value for utilities.
